Car Hire from Belfast City Airport; The Best Way To Sample All This City Has To Offer
Car Hire from Belfast City Airport; The Best Way To Sample All This City Has To Offer
Belfast City Airport is an ideal gateway to explore Northern Ireland; using a car hire service will help get the best from this unique region, both the city and the surrounding rural areas. The airport itself was recently renamed as George Best Belfast City Airport; due to the famous footballer being a home grown talent. The change however angered some as they felt a better representation of Belfast could have been found.
Road links to the airport are slowly improving making a hire car the best choice for tourists. The airport is situated in the harbour area of the city; the descent often comes over Belfast Lough, this predominantly industrial harbour once contained the largest shipbuilding industry in the world.
The city of Belfast is trying to forget its troubled past; tourism is playing a large part in this role with the airport, car hire companies and hoteliers at the forefront of this crusade. The city residents of Belfast have always loved a good time and this is rapidly being extended to tourists. The nightlife in the city has come on leaps and bounds in recent years with a host of bars and clubs opening to cater the needs of Belfast’s young professionals.
That is not to say that the city is purely for partygoers, the use of a hire car will open up the many attractions in and around Belfast to tourists. An attraction of note is Belfast Cathedral, although relatively young compared with other cathedrals it contains wonderful sculptures and mosaics and if visiting on a Sunday; the choir is definitely worth listening too.
For anyone who is interested in Northern Ireland’s troubled past, the Stormont Parliament buildings are well worth a visit, for this you will not need to hire a car as the buildings have pedestrian access and lie in the centre of a tranquil public park. For those who would like to see the location of the many peace talks this is a must. Political historians will extract great worth from this attraction.
Although a major hotel is being planned near the airport, the majority of accommodation lies in and around the city centre. There are many locations from which car hire is available, whether you decide to hire whilst at the airport on arrival or later on in your trip in the city. Accommodation varies from those on a budget to those with the funds to live in luxury.
Families will also be well accommodated in Belfast; there are plenty of activities that will be of interest to youngsters, and may even give a break for parents. A hire car is advisable for visiting the Exploris Aquarium; children will love the interactive nature of the experience such as pool demonstrations with live sea creatures. As an operating seal sanctuary it also has a number of sick or orphaned seals that visitors can see, although as a working seal sanctuary there may be times when no seals are present.
Within the city is a wonderful attraction that gives visitors the chance to watch candy being manufactured. The old world sweet delights will surely engross adults and children alike while purchasing the the hand crafted confections will offer those with a sweet tooth the chance to sample recipes that date back over 100 years.
Belfast is rapidly becoming a fantastic destination for weekend travellers and holiday makers. Belfast City Airport is a brilliant and affordable way to gain access to this amazing city as many low cost flyers now have routes from many major UK airports. Car hire will help tourists sample the delights of this cultural gem and give the freedom to explore at their own leisure.

it is weird that his laptop wall paper is British Airways
@bryanttie what first class? virgin don’t HAVE a first class – only economy, prem economy and buisiness
@SouthAfricanAirways1 i read an article !! they stop because they cant take off at london with full tanks!! because the runway is not long enough haha!!
@LxSharma Pause it at 1:29, do you really think it can hold more than a hundred people? It’s an all business class cabin.
@vambob There are only 32 seats not 52
@makdak420 It is all business class, the reason is because Londo City airport is right in the center of the fiancial district of London as you could see fro the video. Only business travelers are going to want to fly that airport, everyoe else they can fly from LHR-JFK which has Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First Class.
the flight is 7 and half hours long from jfk to london city airport…. is it all business class and if it is why?
@vambob
Go to the [Airbus] website.
Go to [Aircraft families]
Go to [A320 Family]
Then go to [A318]
SCROLL DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THE AIRBUS PAGE.
@vambob It’s a bog-standard A318 with two auxiliary fuel tanks. I also know the reason they stop in Shannon is technical (for fuel).
@SouthAfricanAirways1 actually it is a cj but the reason they have a fuel stop at shannon is because the runway at london city is so short that they cannot take off with enough fuel to take them all the way across the atlantic. if it wasn’t a cj it would not quite make the entire journey back.
@CaptainPrad yes it is a cj. the reason they have a fuel stop at shannon is because the runway at london city is so short that the maximum weight for the fuel cannot carry the plane all the way across the atlantic.
@LxSharma yes but if one passenger has booked a place on the flight they cant cancel it, whether 1 person flies or every seat on the plane is occupied. and by the way, there are only 52 seats on this plane because they are all club world (business) seats.
@MrSpockoff
what about London Southend Airport
This is a fake video!! I don’t think any airplane would like to fly having just one passenger in the plane which has the capacity to hold more than hundred passenger.
The scum that are striking need a good kicking. Wish I worked for them I d work and see who stops me.
@CaptainPrad No, it’s a normal A318. They have a technical stop in Shanon, Ireland and then do the crossing, it then fly’s directly to LCY from New York. But it is a long flight, I see your point.
I had no idea that the A318 could fly such long routes! Is it a CJ?
Small plane flying far away!
@jimbo01111 you have no idea about how business works do you?
lol its sooo small
@jimbo01111 exactly compared to easyjet
easyjet is low cost and is a honeypot to tourists and travellers from low cost
BA is high cost and less passengers
Dublin airport has thas US CBP facility too beside Shannon
@X46RAPTOR & Kem1880. Actually It’s a combination of both of your comments. I saw an episode from Richard Quest on CNN Business Traveler and he took this flight BA001 explaining what you to are commenting now. Its because the A318 cannot takeoff with full fuel load to KJFK, they make a fuel stop at Shannon & during this time the passengers can clear customs and immigration to US. Right now Shannon is the only place outside the US that has this facility & is promoting this to other airlines too.
@kem1880 Yeah… British Air is a very smart company… I couldnĀ“t think that way… But for business passenger is a lot easier… Thanks for explain me that !
@kem1880 Regardless, I guess no flying is taking place now lol…
