I was aboard the very first commercial flight of the brand new and amazing Emirates Airbus A380 flight from Dubai to JFK New York and then return to Dubai. Fantastic plane, top class food and wine along with a truly special welcome into JFK. Being part of history can be fun.

Question by Raphael: What does a first time flight physical entail?
I’m starting college soon and I’m going to be majoring in aviation mangement and flight operations. I was wondering what does the FAA flight physical entail for a student who is having it for the first time? (does it require a blood test, special exams, etc.)

Answer by Mr. Knowitall
It’s basically an all-around physical. I don’t think there is a blood test but they do want to see some urine to check for drugs. They check vision and hearing, they check for hernias, look in eyes and ears for obvious things, stuff like that. If you’re in fairly good health there’s nothing to be worried about.

Really brilliant video and your so lucky I really want to do something like that go to some place in Business or First class and I can not get enough of this video
I understand, but in some countries people still clap at landing. Do not know the reason why. I had many flights where people did that. AirFrance, British and a couple of Latin american airlines…
Champagne in an high altitude flight?! no thank you
@barpaza No they used to clap because it was a new plane and a good experience, the claps faded as the plane became older and now it’s just awkward like any other flight. But bottom line is Emirates are the best airline ever!

@kurruptt1 LOL!
It’s a pretty basic physical that you might get from a doctor, except it also includes tests for visual acuity and color-blindness, and a hearing test. At least for the third-class physical, which is the initial one you would get as you enter flight training, no blood is drawn.
