Question by suz_e_q_zee: What is the best location to pick up my car hire in Edinburgh area?
I’m planning a trip to Scotland in October and have an arrival at Edinburgh Airport. I’ll use a taxi to get to my hotel and after spending a few days in Edinburgh, I would like to hire a car and spend some time on a driving tour.
I understand Edinburgh is difficult to navigate, so should I plan to return to the airport to pick up, or would it be better to just pick up at Waverly Station?
Also, any thoughts on local companies (ie: AutoEurope, etc.) vs. a global company such as Avis or Hertz?
Thanks!
S.

well if you want to spend a few days just looking at edinburgh then its best to wait untill you want to see the rest of scotland before getting a car. because the streets in edinburgh are very very busy and the bypass is way past the number of cars it was built for.
i think europecar is the cheapest and you can get it at the train station. but i would only get a car if you are wanting to see the highlands because you can get everywhere else from edinburgh alot cheaper and easier through bus and trains

Privatization of Airlines in India, Jet Airways and Kingfisher Flights
Had the Air Corporation Act of 1953 not repealed monopoly of air corporations on scheduled services would have still existed! The existence of the number of private airlines in India facilitating low cost flying of lakhs of Indians would have been then a far-fetched affair. It was with the repeal of the Act that private airlines started to operate scheduled service. There are several airlines in India that have been operational for quite some time while at the same time around 27 airlines had gone defunct. Air India, Air India Express, Air India Regional, Blue Dart Aviation, Club One Air, Deccan 360, Deccan Aviation, GoAir, IndiGo, Jagson Airlines, Jet Airways, Jet Konnect, Jetlite, Kingfisher Airlines, Kingfisher Red, SpiceJet, and TajAir are currently the operational airlines in India. The market share differs from airline to airline. The highest share is grabbed by Jet Airways and Jetlite combined at 25.4% followed by Kingfisher Airlines at 19.9%, IndiGo at 19.5%, NACIL at 14.9%, SpiceJet at 13.5%, GoAir at 6.8%, and more.
‘10% off on return fares from Mumbai’, ‘15% off on Première fares’, ‘London at 10% discount in Première’, and more are not just mere advertisements published in favor of Jet Airways. Visit its official website and browse though the great airfare deals for both domestic and international destinations. The dominant market share that has retained is all because of the low airfare deals it offers supplemented by world class facilities and services on board not to mention warm hospitality. The latest recognition in the airline’s kitty is conferment of ‘Power Brand’ award among 200 leading corporate enterprises in India. The award is based on a survey conducted by ICMR along with the IIPM. This is testimony of the growing emergence of Jet Airways as the most preferred airline amongst the fliers.
‘The longest journey covered in the shortest time’ – this is the buzz phrase for Kingfisher flights at the moment. The airline, maintaining 2nd in market share in the country, is now celebrating 6 successful years of glorious service. It is for exclusive entertainment, comfortability, and luxury on board that Kingfisher flights are known for. Visit its corporate website to browse through great deals. For example, you can book return Kingfisher flights starting at Rs. 26,445 for 4N/5D in Hong Kong and for 5N/6D in Thailand as part of packages. Grab the low cost packages and enjoy the trip of a lifetime!
