Little Did I Know She Was Only 16 Years Old

When I was 21, I went to an 18 and over nightclub with my best friend because he just turned 18. While I was there I met a girl that claimed to be 19 and we exchanged numbers. I hung out at her house with her mom and step-dad there – They knew how old I was and everything. We went out for about 3 months and eventually had sex two or three times. Shortly thereafter, I caught her in a lie one day – She was dating another guy too and I broke up with her.

A few days later I was in the mall walking and holding hands with the girl I had started dating, and was approached by a detective. Having one nothing wrong I went downtown and talked with him. I admitted to knowing her, dating her, and having sex – CONSENSUAL SEX – with her. She had gotten into a fight with the other guy she was dating and he choked her because he had found out about me through the same mutual friend I had found out about him through. Scared, she stated that I had raped her. He told her mom and she called the police. When she talked to the detective, she had told him that she kicked and scratched me repeatedly, but when he looked at me, I didn’t have a mark on me. Unfortunately for her, I knew she had told and bragged to her own cousins that we were dating and that she had sex with me – They even signed affidavits to that fact disputing her claim. Unfortunately for me, she was really only 16. She had lied to me and used her sister’s license to get in the club, which was verified when the detective questioned both club owners. The detective even found her sister’s license in her purse, which he showed me.

I thought I was good to go due to all the facts as I had unknowingly been tricked into committing a crime I would have never committed. To make matters worse, my attorney was a schmuck and advised me to plea to Rape 3 (statutory rape in that state) since I did have sex with her. I had never even had a speeding ticket and was scared shitless and didn’t know what to do. I took the plea and due to the affidavits and her own aunt and cousins speaking up at sentencing, the judge only gave me 2 years probation and treatment. I did all of this to completion, then was advised the laws changed and now had to register.

I had a great job and was making a little over 0K a year, but as soon as my picture popped up, I was fired. To date, I have been fired from over 20 jobs, just lost my house I had worked so hard to get, and am completely broke. In two months, I’ll be 40. I moved to Colorado and they want me to register for another 5 years! Got my face on the web and all my information… Been on a ton of interviews, got two jobs offers in writing, but then came the background checks and the offers disappeared. How can anyone on earth say this isn’t additional punishment? Are they blind? Let me plaster your face on the web with some bullshit and let’s see how you handle it!

Oh! And by the way, I have two boys that I am a single father to… Had them since they were 7 months and 3 years old – They’re 10 and 13 now. I was awarded FULL CUSTODY by the same court that I plead to the charge in. I would just love to see your face when they tell you they would love to play football in the summer, but dad can’t afford to buy them the gear and shoes. They don’t know why I have a problem finding and keeping a job… They only know what it tastes like to be hungry and have no food. They only know what its like to go outside to play in tennis shoes with their toes hanging out the ends because their feet have worn through. I know they hurt because I’ve wiped their tears from their cheeks because other kids made fun of their shoes and clothes, or worse… Because their parents said they can’t play with them anymore because their dad is a Chester.

When my dad was 16 he went to war and then married my mom when he was 17 – She was 15. My oldest brother was born when she was just 15. I find it odd that most of the people recommending new rules and laws got married young too! I find it odd that people didn’t learn when they read the story about the two women claiming to both be the mother of a single child. When Soloman said that since he couldn’t tell, they should both get half, the real mother screamed NO, and asked that he be given to the other woman. Soloman, be wise, used the discernment God had given him and gave the child to his rightful mother. I use this story because like Soloman, we have judges that have all of the details of each case. That judge should be capable of discernment. As such, he should be the person making the determination of each individual case and punishment. Grouping everyone into one group will one create paranoia and cause pain. It will never work and until we put the power back into the hands of our judges, we will never find peace in this matter.

Can you imagine if every murderer – including vehicular manslaughter and accidental and unfortunate matters were all of a sudden reclassified and made to register as murderers and violent offenders? Or if everyone convicted of a drug offense – pot smokers, pushers, coke heads, meth heads, and those that gave their friend or relative their prescription medications, were classifed into one big group and made to register as drug abusers? What law makers and legislators are doing is nothing new! They use a case widely publicised in the media – not telling you all the facts and truths – to scare the hell out of you and make you believe every person convicted of a sex offense is going to stalk and rape your little kid. It’s out of that fear that we react irrationally. Oops! Two late… The registry is up and now vigilantes are killing those listed on the registry. Unfortunately, they just killed someone that never touched a kid, but they couldn’t tell… Not a single detail of the case is published. Same or similar charge, so “they all look alike”, right? We need to get a clue before we’re all forced to line up and get our “mark” on us or be forced to make more decisions out of fear rather than truth.

Oh! Thought I should let you know… The girl that claimed I raped her recanted after that same guy beat her up really bad and went to prison. I found out over years after the case was closed when she tracked down a friend of mine. He told her how much damage her lie had done to my life and she wrote a letter to the Governor with the complete truth of the matter, even wrote a statement and had it notorized, then sent it to me. I appled for a pardon based on her statement. The Governor didn’t even think twice… He denied it and forced me to continue to carry the burden of America’s biggest scarlet letter a little longer… THE SEX OFFENDER REGISTRATION.

Parallel the above story with the story of Mark Lunsford’s son, who at 18 was charged with Molestation of a Child, and because Mark Lunsford has connections, His son walks with no sex offender registration… and Mark Lunsford is the guy going all over the nation pushing HARSHER SEX OFFENDER LAWS… FULL STORY HERE

Question by Tyler: Any good online jobs for 16 year olds?
Hi, I am only 16 and I have been looking for a good online job. I’ve been out of school since I had a dirt bike accident and haven’t gone back yet. I’m very bored sitting at home with my leg propped up and I’m trying to find something to do to earn a little money.

I was wondering if there were any jobs for 16 year olds you can do online?

Did You Know Who Invented the TAXI meter?

Did You Know You Can Read More Articles? Take a Look below:

Did You Know?! Who Invented The Internet?
Did You Know?! That Dogs were the very first human pets?
Did You Know That The Longest Word in English Is….
Did You Know?! That Coffee came from a place called “Kaffa”?

One of our favorite local rides anywhere around the world is the Taxicab or simply called “The Taxi!”, and as this local transport brings us to any places we like, we get to pay via a fixed rate per kilometer. That’s the wonder of the very useful “Taxi Meter”! But did we ever asked ourselves, how did this useful invention came to be? Did we ever asked ourselves whose behind the invention? Well, definitely – the creator of the taxi meter is certainly not a Taxi Driver!

So Who Was It?

Meet Wilhelm Bruhn, the inventor of the modern taximeter.

Bruhn is a German inventor who invented the taximeter back in 1891 which suburbs for a fare determined by a meter or rate per distance or kilometer. Hence that the “taxicab” was named after the taximeter.

Before, taximeters were originally located outside the taxicab above the driver’s side front wheel. Then, it was soon put inside the taxi as to where modern and electronic meters are now located.

Today, modern taximeters are now installed along with GPS systems, radio communicators, and even credit or prepaid card support so when you forgot to bring cash in your wallet – you can just swipe the trip away!

Question by Old Gamer 56: How do I go about buying a taxi cab?
I drive for that big taxi company, with the brightly colored cars. Most cabbies rent the cabs, but a few own their own cabs. It’s still got the company stuff painted all over it, and they have to pay for dispatch service, but they own the cab.
So, how do I buy a cab? If I google used cabs, nothing comes up. Do I just buy a car I choose, and take it somewhere to have it painted with the company stuff?

Best answer:

Answer by emiller1998
Ask your company what the requirements are. They probably have some type of regulations on the size car you can buy (kinda hard to pick up a group of people and their stuff in a sub compact). Once you have a car they would tell you how/where to get it painted.

Flight Delays and what you should know

Flight Delays and what you should know

Dear travelers & vacationers flight delays, flight cancellation, flight overbooked, weather delay among others are the words that you don’t want to hear! We all wish these wouldn’t happen to us, but in reality none of us are exempt. Therefore here are some important points to take into consideration just in case.

Flight Delays and What you need to know

Most definitely one of the most common aggravations affecting air travelers are flight delays. There are, however, some measures you can take to minimize the risk.

1. Avoid airlines and flights where delays are common.

Large airlines keep track of their on-time performance on a flight-by-flight basis, and many list their performance rates online, although they may be a bit difficult to find. If you cannot find the on-time performance on the airline’s web site, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics keeps track of a myriad of performance statistics. With just the flight number and airline, you can easily check numbers of delays, average delay, taxi-in times and taxi-out times for a specified date range.

Arrange flight notifications.

Many travel booking web sites (such as Expedia) and airline sites offer free flight notifications that can be sent to your mobile phone or e-mail. These notifications offer information such as flight delays, departure gate assignments and gate changes. Conceivably, this could save you lots of time, but in actuality, they seem to be only marginally effective. Airlines often wait until the last minute to announce a delay, so you may not be notified until you arrive at the airport.

Avoid connecting flights if possible.

The greatest impact of flight delays is when they cause you to miss a connecting flight. If you can’t schedule a non-stop flight, the Bureau of Transportation Statistics can also help you determine which airports are problematic

If you must choose a connecting flight, make sure you build in enough time between flights to accommodate a delay. If you arrive early and your luggage is all carry-on, you may be able to fly standby on the earlier flight and still be guaranteed a seat on the later flight. If your original flight is more heavily booked, the airline will be happy to put you on the earlier flight.

Avoid the last flight of the day.

If you are on the last flight out and it is canceled, your options become not which flight will be best but whether you’ll be sleeping in the airport or at a local hotel. Whenever possible, pick a flight that leaves an hour or two before the last flight of the day. In a pinch, you might be able to get on the other flight (this is really only a viable option if you have not checked bags on the original flight).

Arrive early and check in.

The less time a passenger allows, the greater the risk of lost or delayed luggage, seat assignments right next to the lavatory or denied boarding due to overbooking or a missed flight.

Expect delays.

If your schedule requires you to arrive on time to make your appointment, you’re simply asking for trouble. “On-time arrival” is often an oxymoron like “jumbo shrimp” or “working vacation.” Pad enough time into your schedule so that a flight delay won’t impact your business meeting or cruise departure.

How to handle a delay

Keep your cool.

Be polite but firm. Use terms like “Can you help me get to…?” or “Is it possible to put me on another carrier’s flight?”Be patient.

A flight delay is generally just that–a delay. Whether due to a delayed incoming flight or mechanical problem, the flight usually takes off, albeit an hour or more late. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, it is not wise to attempt to switch flights. First, there is no guarantee another flight will be any less problematic (especially if the delay is due to weather). If you’ve checked any bags, you will either be separated from your luggage or not be allowed to switch, since you must fly on the same plane as your bags for security reasons.

Call the reservations center.

When a flight is cancelled, you may find yourself in a long line of fellow travelers awaiting a customer service agent to make alternate flight arrangements. You can avoid all this and use a phone to contact the reservations center directly

Know your rights (or more aptly, your lack of rights).

While new federal guidelines impose limits on how long passengers may be kept onboard a plane while it is parked or taxiing on the tarmac, they do not address situations where passengers have been prevented from boarding due to a delay. Each airline has its own policies about what it will do for delayed passengers waiting at the airport, and they often differ substantially. If you are delayed, ask the airline staff if they will pay for meals or give you a hotel voucher. Some airlines, often those charging very low fares, do not provide any amenities to stranded passengers. Others may not offer amenities if the delay is caused by bad weather or something else beyond the airline’s control. Airlines are not required to compensate passengers whose flights are delayed or canceled, and typically provide meal or hotel vouchers only for extenuating circumstances and only on return trips, not the originating outbound flights.

If all else fails, ask to see the customer service agent.

If you are not getting an acceptable resolution for your problem, ask to see the airline’s customer service representative. Often, these are very experienced, former gate agents who have the familiarity and authority to make arrangements that a gate agent may lack, and are usually the only people who can authorize a switch to another airline, hotel vouchers or alternative transportation.

Airline bumping.

Airlines routinely sell more tickets for a flight than they have seats. This is known as “overbooking” and, contrary to common sense, is not illegal and does help to keep airplane tickets cheaper by attempting to account for the inevitable no-shows on every flight. In cases where the airline overestimates the number of no-shows, the airline must get some passengers to voluntarily give up their seats and/or deny boarding to the late arrivers. Airlines have complete latitude as to what to offer to get passengers to voluntarily give up their seats. These usually take the form of a guaranteed seat on the next flight (which may be the following day) and a voucher for 0 or more off a future ticket. If you’re booked on an overbooked flight and have flexible travel plans, feel free to negotiate. It is not uncommon to receive a first- or business-class upgrade on the next flight along with a meal voucher. If you don’t like the deal, don’t take it.

If the airline fails to get enough passengers to volunteer to give up their seats, they may deny boarding to some unlucky passengers. If that unlucky passenger is you, then it is helpful to know your rights. For more information regarding your rights, see the Department of Transportation’s Fly-Rights A Consumer Guide to Travel.

If you are bumped involuntarily and the airline arranges alternate transportation that is scheduled to get you to your final destination (including later connections) within one hour of your original scheduled arrival time, there is no compensation.

If the airline arranges alternate transportation that is scheduled to arrive at your destination between one and two hours after your original arrival time (between one and four hours on international flights), the airline must pay you an amount equal to your one-way fare to your final destination, with a 0 maximum.
If the alternate transportation is scheduled to get you to your destination more than two hours later (four hours internationally), or if the airline does not make any substitute travel arrangements for you, the compensation doubles (200% of your fare, 0 maximum.)

You are always permitted to keep your original ticket and use it on another flight. If you choose to make your own arrangements, you can request an “involuntary refund” for the ticket for the flight you were bumped from. The denied boarding compensation is essentially a payment for your inconvenience. Keep in mind that you must meet the airline’s requirements for ticketing check-in deadlines. Airlines are free to set their own check-in deadlines which may be as low as 10 minutes or as long as an hour or more before takeoff. These rules do not apply to planes with 60 or fewer seats, international flights to the United States or charter flights. As mentioned earlier, the easiest way to avoid being bumped is getting to the airport early, leaving some other unlucky traveler to be the bumped passenger.

Someone told my mom their $ 6.00 but we cant find infermation on them ANYWHERE. Please help

Are you talking about the North Carolina state quarter dollar? The state motto is “First In Flight,” but the coins say “First Flight” because that is the name of the photograph depicted on the coin. There are also three commemorative coins produced by the US Mint, but none of those have “First Flight” or “First in Flight” on the coin. I hope that helps.
