Over $28.6 Billion Will Be Invested On Airport Constructions And Extensions

“As infrastructure in the aviation industry, civil airport provides space and other necessary conditions. Its supply capacity and operation act an important role in the aviation industry.
In 2007, passenger throughputs of all nationwide airports reached 387.586 million, up by 16.8% over the last year; cargo and mail throughputs were 8.611 million tons, up by 14.3%. The annual growth rate of cargo and mail throughputs in 2007 was lower than 19% in 2006 due to the rising price of oil and shipping.

It is estimated that passenger throughput and cargo throughput of China mainland airports will rise to 540 million person-trips and 11.8 million tons respectively by 2010 with average annual growth rate of 14%. This figure will respectively add up to 1.4 billion person-trips and 30 million tons by 2020 with average annual growth rate of 10%. China’s civil airport industry has witnessed a rising demand and will keep steady growth in the coming years.
China’s airport network began to take shape after several decades’ construction. It has formed a structure of airport hubs in Beijing. In 2007, the number of civil airports which were open to air traffic in China was 148, and this number will increase annually.

In 2007, the number of airports with passenger throughputs over 1 million person-trips was 47, an increase of 3 over the last year; and the number of airports with cargo and mail throughputs is over 10 thousand reached 43, increased by 4 as compared with 2006, 51 airports had over 10 thousand takeoffs and landings annually, increased by 4 as compared with the last year. All the above indicated that China’s airports had increasingly strong operation capability.

In November, 2008, Chinese government has worked out a plan of expanding domestic demand to promote economic growth. More investment will go to civil airports construction and extension, especially in those western cities like Kunming, Chongqing and Nanning as well as Yunnan province. Chinese government has newly added 30 billion RMB Yuan (about 4.3 billion USD) for those projects.

In 2009, China will launch new projects of airport hubs in Chengdu, Xi’an and Guangzhou as well over 40 regional airports with investment over 200 billion RMB Yuan (about 28.6 billion USD). By 2010, investment for new projects of airport hubs in Pudong Shanghai, Wuhan, Nanjing and over 20 regional airports will add up to 250 billion RMB Yuan (about 35.7 billion USD).

Cheap Car Rental Cyprus – 3 Things You Ought to be Aware of Before Handing Over Your Hard Earned Cash

Cheap Car Rental Cyprus – 3 Things You Ought to be Aware of Before Handing Over Your Hard Earned Cash

Sourcing a reputable and low-cost rental car company anywhere in the world is not an easy task and finding cheap car rental Cyprus is no different. Although there is an abundance of rental cars in Cyprus, the rental prices can be high and/ or the cars can be a little worse for wear if you don’t do your homework. So, the next time you hire a car for your Summer Holiday in Cyprus, just be extra vigilant.  Most rental companies have a good reputation; however, there are a few questionable ones out there.  If you take note of the pointers below, it should save you a headache.

1- Drivers

Because driving in any nation where the streets are tight and old and the drivers a little less law-conscious is dangerous, you need to make sure that everyone that could potentially be driving your car is listed and that they are all insured. So, check that everyone who wants to drive the hire car is named on the agreement and is eligible to drive it under the rental company conditions.

To hire a car in Cyprus, the minimum age is 25 or must have held a clean driving license for at least 3 years.  If any of your drivers are under 25, find out if they can be included as a named driver on a policy in your name.

If you have excessive tickets or accidents, the car rental agency may not rent to you at all, so be prepared to have a back-up plan (for instance, an alternative driver), if you are rejected.   This is also a great idea if you plan to share the driving, if you fancy having a few drinks at night.  The best thing to do, though, is to ensure that you are qualified to rent and drive before you ever leave home.

2 – Fuel

One aspect of cheap car rental Cyprusthat can turn a cheap rental into an expensive one is the fuel charges. Each car rental agency has its own fuel requirements and you need to pay very close attention to these if you don’t want to pay high surcharges. In most instances, you will be given the car with a full tank of petrol and you will be expected to return it full. If you don’t, you will be billed a surcharge for the amount they have to top up and most probably pay a premium on the petrol price. If a car hire company manages to fit a few more liters in the tank, they will charge you for refueling, so no skimping!

If you choose to pay for the fuel you’ve used, keep all of your receipts.  The good news is, the price of fuel is slightly cheaper in Cyprus compared to the likes of the UK.

3 – Vehicle Damage Cover / Collision Damage Waiver

This isn’t actually insurance and it isn’t compulsory, so don’t be pushed into thinking it is. This covers the renter for the cost of repairs in the event that the vehicle is involved in a road accident, but can push the cost of your rental up considerably.

Usually the waiver will only cover up to a certain amount and doesn’t include broken glass, damaged tyres and damage to the oil sump in Cyprus.  But you will need to check the individual policy to determine this. You will usually have an excess which you will need to pay in the case of a claim – for example, if your excess is £300, then you will need to pay the first £300 of any repairs made.

Personal accident insurance is an optional cover which protects the driver in the case of

an accident caused by them resulting in death or permanent disability. Theft waiver will cover the hirer in the event that the vehicle is lost or stolen.  Loss and damage waiver combines Damage and Theft Cover

The happy news is that you can source cheap car rental Cyprus, which will save you a lot of money over taxis or organized tours. But making sure you choose the right rental company before you leave home is the best way to make sure you have a safe and affordable trip.

Bidding Over the Price of Your Airport Taxi Price

Bidding Over the Price of Your Airport Taxi Price

We all enjoy haggling over the price, whether we pay for haircut, clothes or taxi. In the past it was a common practice when purchasing or bartering for different source of goods or service. It was possible for example to strike a bargain when paying for a stage coach but in the course of time we no longer haggle over the taxi price.

On occasions when a seller was unsure of the price, the auctions were particularly useful. In the late 17th century the auctioning were conducted at coffeehouses and taverns throughout London. In the early 18th century the great auction houses were created and despite lack of social approval they gained great popularity.

Nowadays people can bid electronically without any geographical, time or social constraints. As a result of a success with online auction sales, different companies offer their customers to get the best money for the items or service.

Similarly, FairFare.co.uk ( http://www.fairfare.co.uk ), national online booking taxi provider, has decided to introduce a new feature of Taxi Reverse Auction. It has been created with the hope of letting taxi operators to set the best price for airport taxi transfers. Therefore, taxi operators place their price bid which then is presented to a passenger who may accept it or wait for the possibility of a better taxi price. Definitively, a passenger is to get a decent price for their airport taxi because taxi drivers compete and willingly tender more attractive prices.

Hopefully, the new opportunity to haggle over the taxi price will be beneficial to both passengers and taxi operators. If you want to see for yourself how bidding over taxi price works, you may visit http://www.fairfare.co.uk.
