How to Travel to New York City
Millions of visitors from all over the world go New York City sightseeing every year. This article will give you some ideas on how to get there so you “can be a part of it”.
New York City is serviced by three airports, JFK, LaGuardia and Newark. All the major airlines(US Airways, United, American, Delta) fly here as do the low fare carriers like JetBlue and Southwest Airlines. I recommend using the internet to shop and compare air fares. Some popular web sites to search for air fares are Orbitz, Travelocity, Expedia, airfares.com, cheapflights.com and cheaptickets.com. Don’t let the location of the airport itself determine your flight because getting from any of the airports to your final destination will be easy using the NYC subway, bus system or taxi.
If you don’t want to fly, you can take a bus to Manhattan from just about anywhere. It will take a lot longer than flying, but will be much cheaper. You can take Greyhound from anywhere. If you are already on the east coast you have lots of options I bet you never heard of. Peter Pan buses from Virginia to Rhode Island and into the Big Apple and they will drop you off at the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 42nd Street and 8th Avenue. You can also use a company called Eastern Travel Bus. They go to NYC from Richmond, Va, Washington, DC and Baltimore. They will drop you off at several different locations in Manhattan, including Chinatown.
If you prefer traveling by train, Amtrak will take you to Penn Station in Midtown, Manhattan. From there you can walk, bus, subway or taxi to your final destination.
I don’t recommend driving into Manhattan unless you absolutely have to. It can be a real headache and will probably be slower than walking. Parking in NYC can be very difficult to find and very expensive. If you insist on driving yourself, I suggest you thoroughly research where you want to go, map it out and have a plan for parking.
Now that you have arrived in NYC, you can check into your New York City Hotel, go to Times Square, catch a Broadway show, visit Central Park, take the subway out to the Bronx Zoo or Yankee Stadium. Get a little culture in the museums and see the art in Soho and Chelsea. And don’t forget all those great New York City restaurants.

Question by Shaveen: Travel from Lisbon(Portugal) to Sevilla in Spain?
Hi,
I need to travel from Lisbon to Sevilla on 18th November. I am unable to find any direct trains. The car rental companies are saying they would charge a hefty amount (in order of 800 euros) if I pick up a car in Portugal and drop off in Spain. Someone also told me that there is some bus which goes but it is very slow and painful and takes 9-10 hours for the small distance.
Can you someone suggest what should i do? In worst case scenario, where do i get the bus from and do i need to book in advance? Any timetable and charges will also be really appreciated.
Plane journey is going to be very costly I believe. We are a group of 4. So anything cheaper will be highly appreciated.

Very easy and very cheap (35 Euros)…take EVA bus…you can book your tickets online too! I did it too and the buses are really comfortable too! Go from Lisbon to Faro (you might even spend one night there…it is so pretty there), then from Faro to Sevilla (it is spelled Sevilha in Portuguese)
